OPTICAL ENGINEER – LEVEL 4
Summary
Designs and develops projection lenses, laser beam relay systems, and pattern recognition optics for precision optical instruments
such as photolithographic exposure systems, laser ablation systems, and optical alignment and inspections systems.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- In conjunction with the opto-mechanical engineering staff, conducts tolerance analysis to evaluate and optimize the expected as
built performance of the optical system. Performs sensitivity analysis of the optical system to aid in establishing fabrication and
alignment tolerances.
- Determines specifications and operations of lenses and optical systems and makes adjustments to calibrate and obtain specified
operational performance.
- Designs projection lenses, laser beam relay systems, and pattern recognition optics to meet physical specifications.
- Designs inspection instruments to test optical systems for defects such as aberrations and deviations.
- Analyzes test results of optical systems and components for compliance to system specification.
- Works with electrical and mechanical engineering staff to develop overall design of optical system.

- Develops new or modified process formulations, defines processing or handling equipment requirements and specification
and reviews processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture and fabrication of products.
- Conducts investigations and tests, of considerable complexity, pertaining to the development of new manufacturing methods,
materials, or processes and investigates possible applications of results.
- Investigates literature, patents, etc. relevant to the process requirement.
- Coordinates design requirement review with appropriate Engineering personnel to ensure compatibility of processing methods.
- Operates photolithography and laser ablation equipment to perform process experiments, interprets and evaluates test data,
optimizes process, makes appropriate recommendations and generates comprehensive reports.

Project Manager (Engineering)
The Role:
Tamarack Scientific is searching for a high energy Project Manager to help lead exciting new projects we'll be launching in the next several months.
From project inception to customer delivery, this highly visible position is responsible for organizing, scheduling and managing the organization's diverse
resources to deliver highly complex equipment projects. The successful candidate has experience working in a matrix organization and experience
directly supporting an external customer.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the 5 key activities of Project Management: Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring/Controlling, and Project Closure with the client.
- Responsible for developing and managing the key dimensions of the project: Scope, Schedule, Quality, Risk, Cost, Team Communications, etc.
- Working in a matrix environment, manage resources from across the organization (multiple engineering disciplines, procurement, vendors,
fabrication, assembly and test) to assure that project goals are achieved.
- Primary responsibility for external communications with the customer and assuring timely resolution of Technical, Schedule, Quality, and Scope issues.
- Primary responsibility for internal communications and assuring stakeholders (team members, functional managers and executives) are appraised
of status, issues, and risks, and plans to keep the project on track.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science. Prefer in Engineering (ME, IE, EE, OE, or SW) or Physics.
- 2+ years Project Management experience (prefer within Engineering), managing projects averaging at least 6 months in duration, and with a total
project cost exceeding $500K.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT ENGINEER
Summary
This highly visible position is responsible for the organizing, scheduling, and tracking of major capital equipment
projects from inception to delivery. Responsibilities include developing all project documentation including goal setting,
scheduling, risk assessment and mitigation, etc., coordinating the activities of engineering, manufacturing, assembly,
and test to deliver complex capital equipment on time, within budget, and to the customer's specification.
This person must be able to work effectively in a matrix organization as well as have excellent client relations skills
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with Sales to develop the system quotation, including delivery, based upon resource allocation
- Develop project schedule and track activity during the project
- Schedule required resources, identify project risk factors, and develop contingency plans
- Track resource requirements across multiple projects
- Communicate project status and technical issues to the customer
- Track and coordinate engineering, manufacturing and purchasing activities related to projects
- Coordinate and report assembly and test activities

SALES APPLICATION ENGINEER
Summary
Sells manufacturing capital equipment and services. Involved in all aspects of the sale from initial presentations
and demonstrations through contract signing and post-sales follow up. Involves working effectively with company's
engineering group to develop customer solutions. Requires some travel to meet with potential customers and representatives.
Involves actively searching out and contacting potential customers ("cold calling"). Services the customer after the sale
to ensure satisfaction and to promote future business. Prepares sales forecasts and participates in the determination of
market potential as required.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Obtains sales orders by contacting and calling on engineers/prospects and representatives to direct, control, and assist in
project design and specifications toward both the customer's and Tamarack's best interests. Sales effort will target
Semiconductor, Display, Plastic Electronics, PCB, Medical and other markets. Ensures sales growth objectives are met.
- Establishes contacts and dialog with European, Asian and U.S. customers and in other markets.
- Responsible for consistent planning and sales activities to create new business through organized prospecting and increase
Tamarack's share of business from existing accounts.
- Analyzes customer needs and identifies the best Tamarack solutions.
- Identifies customer needs and specifications; develops and prices the estimate; writes the proposal and bids the job.
Also provides detailed equipment description with competitive advantages.
- Assists with marketing efforts which includes representative training, print and electronic media,
trade shows and customer visits.
- Services the customer before and after the sale to ensure satisfaction and to promote future business.
This includes all aspects of customer interaction: providing customers with timely shipping information,
job site visits with customers and service coordination.
- Develops customized presentations and quotations for use in sales efforts.

Summary
Researches, designs, defines, and implements complex system requirements for customers. Assists in the initial planning
and system definition phase of a project, system integration and verification process.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Consults with customer and analyzes their requirements to determine feasibility of design.
- Assists in defining system architecture and communicates to design engineering team, management
and customer. Assists in the functional decomposition, performance flow down and physical partitioning
of the system’s architecture.
- Coordinates with engineers and other staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software subsystems,
operational and performance requirements of overall system. Develops plans to verify that the system’s
performance is met.
- In conjunction with others, leads performance analysis and trade-off analysis.
- Develops system test plans and documentation, and works with system test engineers in evaluation of
validation test results to verify satisfaction of system requirements. Troubleshoots technical problems
causing delays to the project.
