Photo-Chemical Miling

Photo-Chemical milling, or metal etching, is unique in that the process does not change the internal structure or properties of the materials. As features get smaller, accurate reproduction of parts becomes even more critical.

The use of Tamarack’s double sided collimated exposure systems in the photo imaging process provides the ability to produce very fine features (under 1 mil). However, resolution is only as good as the ability to provide highly accurate front to back artwork alignment. The combination of collimated light, good uniformity and accurate alignment insures burr free parts with a high product yield, ultimately reducing production costs.

In order to produce the fine details required by the most demanding customers, collimated UV illumination is necessary. Tamarack’s series 161 collimated UV exposure systems have been created to meet your customers continuously evolving needs. The highly collimated illumination source, uniform to +/- 8%, is supplemented by an efficient double drawer design that offers available repeatability of top to bottom artwork to +/- 5 microns.
